Prepare Your Store for the Holidays

For most online businesses, the upcoming holiday season brings excellent opportunities to increase order volume. It is critical that your store is ready to handle the rush.

How to be Prepared for the Holiday Season

With the holidays almost upon us, it’s easy to get caught up in the frenzy that inevitably ensues, but it’s very important to be sure that your online store is ready. Aside from using the aforementioned tools, another important thing to consider is whether or not your site has a responsive design. This just refers to having web pages that scale according to the size of the device that is viewing them. This is becoming increasingly important as the number of mobile phone/tablet shoppers continues to rise. You can achieve this in version 12 of ShopSite by using the new responsive themes that are built into the software, or you could consider trying to adjust your current design to be responsive. For those using Magento, be sure that you are utilizing a responsive theme as well, or your could customize the built-in, responsive ‘RWD’ theme to your liking. Once you have completed your mobile/responsive design, be sure to test it out on various mobile devices to be sure it displays as expected. Using Chrome’s Developer Tools (DevTools), you can test and debug your website right from the Chrome browser. Another thing not to be overlooked is the speed of your website. A fast loading site will help improve your search engine ranking as well as keep your customers happy so that they won’t abandon your site and shop somewhere else.
